First Things First

NEVER attempt to attach or remove your keyboard from your CinTweak keyboard tray while it is on your Cintiq interactive pen display. Just don't do it. Always remove your tray from your display before attempting to attach, remove or reposition your keyboard.

Don't forget to periodically, check your Velcro straps and dots to ensure that your tray is securely attached to the back of your Cintiq tablet.

What's In The Box

(A) Velcro Hook Dots for your tray straps - You only need 2 for a particular position - keep the rest for future use.

(B) Velcro Hook Pads for your keyboard - 2 are pre-attached to your tray, and 2 are extra for another keyboard.

(C) Velcro Hook Strip - This long strip is only supplied to Cintiq 24HD/24HD-TOUCH tray users.

(D) Keyboard cord wrap - Use this to keep your keyboard power cord short and tidy.

STEP 1: Preparing your Tray and Tablet

Position your tablet in the upright locked position.

Clean the back of your tablet with a damp cloth to remove any dust and oil so that the sticky back Velcro will have a good clean surface for attachment.

DO NOT use chemicals of any kind.

21UX Tablet and 22HD/HD-TOUCH displays

Your CinTweak keyboard Tray is limited to central positioning to allow access to your tablet's power button.

Attach one Velcro Hook Dot (A) to each strap of your CinTweak keyboard tray as pictured with the grooves in the Velcro running horizontally.

Leave the protective backing on until you are ready to attach it to your tablet.

(In this picture, the protective film has been removed so that you can see proper alignment and positioning on the strap)

Please Note:

This step also applies to Cintiq 24HD/HD-TOUCH tablet owners who do not intend to use the long Velcro Hook Strip (C) and instead opt for discrete positioning with the Velcro hook Dots (A) provided.

24HD/HD-TOUCH displays

If you do not intend to use the Velcro Hook Strip, please see the note above.

Otherwise, attach the Velcro Hook Strip (C) as pictured. Use the two dimples on the back of your 24HD/24HD-Touch display as guides for lining up your strip.

Attach the ends lightly so that you can easily reposition in case you need to. Once you are lined up, remove the remaining backing and firmly rub the entire length of the strip to ensure you have proper adhesion to the back of your tablet.

27qHD/qHD-TOUCH displays

For left, center and right positioning, attach four (4) Velcro Hook Dots (A) as pictured. Make sure the dots are placed exactly as shown and the grooves in the Velcro run horizontally.

Rub the Velcro Dots firmly to ensure you have proper adhesion to the back of your tablet.

STEP 2: ATTACHING YOUR TRAY TO YOUR TABLET

21UX and 22HD/HD-TOUCH DISPLAYS

Remove the protective backing from the Velcro Hook Dots (A) you attached to your tray straps in Step 1.

Fold the tray straps back so they will not come in contact with your tablet when positioning the tray.

Place your tray on your tablet in your preferred position:

- Centered on 21UX tablets with the power button accessible through the tray opening in front.

- Centered (recommended), left, or right on 22HD/HD-TOUCH tablets with the power button accessible through the tray opening or beside it.

- Centered, left, or right on 27QHD/QHD-TOUCH tablets with the power button accessible through the tray opening or beside it.

- Anywhere along the top of the display on the 24HD/HD-TOUCH tablets.

With one hand resting on the keyboard surface of the tray for stability, tug each tray tether down and attach it to your tablet.

Rub the tether firmly to ensure you have proper adhesion between the Velcro Hook Dot (A) and the back of your tablet.

Peel the tether off the Velcro Hook Dot gently and tug down and reapply for a snug fit.

Wiggle your tray gently to see if it feels secure and stable.

If you are using the long Velcro Hook Strip (C), you can position your tray anywhere along the top of your tablet.

With one hand resting on the keyboard surface of the tray for stability, tug each tray tether down and attach it to the Velcro Hook Strip (C) on your tablet.

Rub the tether firmly to ensure you have proper adhesion between the Velcro tether and the Velcro Hook Strip (C) on the back of your tablet.

Wiggle your tray gently to see if it feels secure and stable.

27qHD/qHD-TOUCH Displays

For central positioning, place your tablet so that the power button lines up with the access area on the back of the tray. This will line your tray tethers up with the two middle Velcro Hook Dots (A) you installed in Step 1.

For left or right positioning, place your tablet so that the tethers line up with the two Velcro Hook Dots (A) that you attached in Step 1 on the left or right of your tablet.

With one hand resting on the keyboard surface of the tray for stability, tug each tray tether down and attach it to the Velcro Hook Dot (A) on your tablet.

Rub the tether firmly to ensure you have proper adhesion between the Velcro tether and the Velcro Hook Dot (A) on the back of your tablet.

Wiggle your tray gently to see if it feels secure and stable.

STEP 3: Attaching your Keyboard to your Tray

NEVER attempt to attach or remove your keyboard from your CinTweak keyboard tray while it is on your Cintiq interactive pen display. Always remove your tray from your display before attempting to attach, remove or reposition your keyboard.

Only Keyboards with a flat back are viable candidates for use with the CinTweak keyboard trays. Please check before installing that your keyboard will have full back contact with the tray surface. If it does not, it may not have full adhesion with the Velcro when installed and may slip off and damage your tablet drawing surface.

If your keyboard does not have a flat back, you will want to get a different keyboard.

    1. Remove your CinTweak keyboard tray from your tablet

    2. Your tray arrives with 2 Velcro Hook Pads (B) for your keyboard pre-attached. If you have removed them,
reattach the Velcro Hook Pads (B) as pictured.

    3. Peel 1/2 of the protective backing off of each pad.

    4. Turn your keyboard over and press the tray onto the back of your keyboard making sure to align the bottom of the tray and keyboard, and have equal amounts of overhang on both left and right sides if your keyboard is larger than your tray.

    5. Separate your keyboard and tray using the front bottom edge of the tray and keyboard (as if you were opening a book).

NEVER use the back flap of the tray as a lever to pry the keyboard off.

    6. Remove the remaining protective backing and rub the Velcro Hook Pads (B) on the back of your keyboard to ensure good adhesion.

    7. Reattach your tray and keyboard as before, lining up the bottom edge of both and having equal overhang on the sides.

    8. With both hands, rub, pinch, squeeze and wiggle your keyboard and the front surface of your tray together over the entire area where the pads are sandwiched to ensure a firm grip between the Velcro Hook Pads on the back of your keyboard and the Velcro Loop Pads on the front of your tray.

When the keyboard no longer feels loose, wiggly or wobbly on your tray, you can reattach your tray to your tablet.

If you need to make adjustments, please remember to remove the keyboard and tray assembly from your tablet first.

NEVER adjust the keyboard while it is attached to the tray and your tray is attached to your Cintiq display.

Please read the Keyboard Compatibility and Proper Use guide below for additional important information about using and caring for your CinTweak keyboard tray.

KEYBOARD COMPATiBILITY AND PROPER USE

WILL YOUR KEYBOARD FIT?
HOW TO MEASURE YOUR KEYBOARD

Place your keyboard in front of you in the normal position that you would use it to type.

The length of your keyboard is the longest distance - usually from left to right as it is sitting in front of you.

The width of your keyboard is the distance from the front edge (the closest edge to you) to the back edge (the opposite side of the keyboard) as it is sitting in front of you.

Do not measure diagonally.

If you are purchasing a Model-S Tray, your keyboard should be less than 13 inches in length.

If you are purchasing a Model-X Tray, your keyboard should be 13 inches or greater in length.

WILL YOUR KEYBOARD WORK?
WHAT LIMITS USING A PARTICULAR KEYBOARD

Keyboards that do not have a flat front edge, like the MicroSoft Ergonomic keyboards which incorporate a curvy palm rest are not viable candidates for use.

Keyboards that are more than 6 inches front to back are not viable candidates for use.

Keyboards that do not have a flat surface on the underside are not viable candidates for use.

USING MULTIPLE KEYBOARDS

Did you know that you can use multiple keyboards with your computer at the same time?

Just plug an additional keyboard into an available USB port on you computer or the USB port on the side of your Cintiq 24HD. It's a great option for multi-monitor / multi-position large desk setups.

STILL NOT SURE ABOUT YOUR KEYBOARD?

Contact me with the Make and Model # of the keyboard you intend to use. I will check it out and let you know if it will work with the CinTweak keyboard tray you are ordering.

DON'T BE THAT GUY!
PROPER USAGE GUIDELINES

CinTweak Keyboard Trays are designed to hold Slim/Mini Chiclet style keyboards. If you can slap wheels on your current keyboard and cruise around the block, it is probably too big for your CinTweak.

NEVER rest your keyboard on your CinTweak Keyboard Tray without the Keyboard's Velcro Safety pads attached, and the tray's Rear Safety Tethers secured to the back of your Wacom Cintiq.

NEVER attach or remove your keyboard while the tray is on your tablet. Remove the tray first, make your adjustments then place the tray back on your tablet.

NEVER use the back flap of the tray as a lever to pry your keyboard off. You will snap your tray in two. Use the front surface edge and pry it away gently from your keyboard.

If you do not follow these guidelines, you run the risk of your keyboard or tray falling off and potentially damaging the drawing surface of your graphics tablet.

DO NOT attempt to move your Cintiq tablet using your Cintiq keyboard tray as a lever or handle.

CinTweak Keyboard Trays are made of Acrylic.

Excessive force may cause it to break into several pieces with razor sharp edges.

Improper use may lead to injury and/or damage to your tablet, death, dismemberment, tooth decay, hair loss, unwanted pregnancy and in rare cases, destruction on a global scale.

CLEANING YOUR TRAY

DO NOT use any chemical or alcohol based cleaner to clean your CinTweak keyboard tray.

A damp cloth is all you need.

The last thing you want to do is use a chemical based cleaner and run the risk of it dripping onto your Wacom Cintiq drawing surface, potentially damaging it.

Alcohol based cleaners will damage both your CinTweak keyboard tray and your Cintiq tablet's drawing surface.

SMUDGEGUARD GLOVES

If you find your hand is sticking to your Cintiq drawing surface the longer you work, you need to get a SmudgeGuard glove.
If you are not using Michelle's SmudgeGuard glove with your Cintiq, you do not know what you are missing.

WILL MY KEYBOARD WORK WITH
THE CINTWEAK TRAY?

The new CinTweak keyboard tray requires that the back of your keyboard be relatively flat for best adhesion with the Velcro.

If you are not sure whether your current keyboard will fit the Cintiq keyboard tray you are ordering, or you are planning on purchasing a new keyboard, please visit the Keyboard Compatibility Guide at the bottom of the 27qHD, 24HD, 22HD, or 21UX pages for proper fit guidelines for your keyboard.

If you are still unsure if your keyboard will work, please contact me with the make and model and I will take a look at it and let you know.

WILL THE TRAY SCRATCH MY
CINTIQ DRAWING SURFACE?

No. All Cintiq keyboard trays have a synthetic felt backing that cushions the tray against your Cintiq tablet.
The acrylic tray should never come in contact with your Cintiq directly if installed properly.

I DON'T WANT TO ATTACH VELCRO PADS
TO THE BACK OF MY KEYBOARD OR THE BACK
OF MY CINTIQ Tablet.

CAN I STILL USE THE TRAY?

Absolutely Not.

If you don't plan to use the supplied Velcro tethers to secure your keyboard tray to your Cintiq tablet, and your keyboard to the CinTweak tray, please do not order this product.

I would prefer to hear that you love the tray and it works great as opposed to hearing that you drowned in a pool of your tears when your keyboard fell and scratched your drawing surface because you chose not to follow the proper installation and use guidelines.
